The waterproof feature is a game-changer for outdoor shoots, allowing me to capture stunning scenes even in less-than-ideal conditions. It's like having a professional-grade mist effect on demand, without worrying about damage.!

The effect from this diffusion filter was subtle in my landscape photos... it added some mood to a day when the sky was empty and boring... and added a bit of attitude to a waterfall shot with highly reflective water at the base... nothing overly dramatic or so obvious someone would take one look at the pictures and know I used a filter, but a nice subtle effect I can see, in part because I took the pictures, and know what the "original" situation looked like.

I chose this diffuser as a budget pick for a Sigma 30mm APS-C lens I use attached to a Sony FX30. The reason I got it was to lower the contrast from the lens as I was using the FX30 as an overkill webcam at my desk (we were recording a session and I didn’t use my usual video setup).

I thought it performed well, and I don’t think I’d have gone with a more expensive filter like a Glimmerglass (which I use with my Fujifilm x100v for street and nighttime photography) for this purpose. In this case, I really just wanted a more cinematic effect that would rival recording live on the FX30 and modifying the recording in post.

I still think the Glimmerglass 1 is a better choice for a more even diffusion that doesn’t look cartoonish, but this one was way better than I expected given the price.

I like the soft, skin smoothing image that a black diffusion filter gives your images and video. Not having to pay the ridiculously high cost of the other brands makes this offer that much better. When compared to my more expensive version of this filter, I could not see any major differences.

The image that this filter creates is very cinematic. It softens up what is generally a clinically sharp image or video footage from my cameras. Sometimes that sharpness is great, but other times i just prefer the misty ghostly effect that this filter creates in specific environments. The effects are not always visible if you do not have high contrast areas. By softening the image, it also softens the skin and reduces some of the unnecessary details.

If you want to add a different look to your images or footage, this is a great filter to own.

I have the 1/4 version of this K&F Concept Black diffusion filter which I use frequently, so I decided to give this version a try.

The filter has a nicely machined ultra-slim frame so it doesn’t show up in the corners of my wide angle photos. It can be attached to the clear protective filter that’s already on my lens if I want to just add it, but I wanted to test it directly on the lens itself. It fit my Canon lens perfectly as well as it fit onto the filter on my lens.

I found that it provided mild diffusion but not overly noticeable. It also provides a natural, softened effect to backlit photos.

It could be used as a protective filter if you enjoy the diffusion effect because it uses high quality multi-coated optical glass but is also colorless.

This filter helps me to achieve a smoothing and softening effects and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something different in their photography.

I got this filter for a new DSLR I recently received solely for videos. The filter is made of high quality optical glass with multiple layers of ultra-thin, nanometer coatings and ultra-light materials. The frame is very light and thin compared to some of the other filters I have. This filter is a 1/8 black diffusion and the changes from a normal, non-filtered lens, are minimal. But, it does help soften the subject in my videos a little. The same filter is available in other strengths, but I thought 1/8 was a good place to start experimenting.

I feel the price for this filter is very good considering you are getting a high-quality, multi-coated glass filter. In my first few experimental photos and videos, I think this filter has a lot of potential for portraits and still-life too. I highly recommend this camera filter for anyone shooting photos or videos.
